Pinocho, de Guillermo del Toro, Nominada a los Premios BAFTA 2023

Los Premios BAFTA se llevarán a cabo el domingo 19 de febrero de 2023, en el Royal Festival Hall, en el centro de Southbank, en Londres, Inglaterra, y contarán con una gran serie de nominados entre los que destaca el director mexicano, Guillermo del Toro.

Pinocho, la película que Del Toro estrenó en 2022, fue una de las candidatas a Mejor Película Animada, mientras que Argentina, 1985, del director argentino Santiago Mitre, se llevó una nominación a Mejor Película de Habla No Inglesa.

Ana de Armas también competirá por el BAFTA a Mejor Actriz por su papel protagonista como Marilyn Monroe en Blonde. En esta categoría también competirá junto con Cate Blanchett, Viola Davis, Danielle Deadwyler, Emma Thompson y Michelle Williams.

En la categoría a Mejor Película Extranjera de los BAFTA, Argentina, 1985, protagonizada por Ricardo Darín y Peter Lanzani, aspirará al galardón junto con All Quiet on the Western Front, Corsage, Decision to Leave y The Quiet Girl.

Dentro de esa misma categoría, en cambio, se quedó fuera Bardo, falsa crónica de unas cuentas verdades, del mexicano Alejandro Iñárritu, que narra la crisis existencial a la que se enfrenta un periodista y documentalista mexicano al regresar a su país.

En la categoría de Animación, la cinta méxico-estadounidense Pinocho, de Del Toro, competirá con Marcel The Shell With Shoes On, de Dean Fleisher Camp; Puss In Boots: The Last Wishe, de Joel Crawford, y Turning Red, de Domee Shi.

Por otra parte, la película alemana All Quiet On The Western Front se convirtió en el filme en lengua extranjera con mayor número de nominaciones en la historia de los BAFTA y encabezó la lista de candidaturas con 14 categorías. 

La cinta, una adaptación de la novela de 1929 sobre la Primera Guerra Mundial, opta a 14 galardones -que se desvelarán en una ceremonia el próximo día 19 de febrero-, entre ellos a mejor director, mejor actor de reparto, mejor guión adaptado, mejor película en lengua no inglesa y mejor película.

La nueva película de Guillermo Del Toro, Pinocho, ganó como Mejor Película de Animación en los Critics Choice Awards.

También, Pinocho está nominada en nueve categorías de los Premios Annie, que se realizarán el 25 de febrero en el Royce Hall, el edificio principal de la Universidad de California (UCLA), en Los Ángeles, California, en Estados Unidos.
